Bannerman Consultants Supports Showcase Projects

Burnaby, June 2018 – Two projects on which Bannerman Consultants has performed background work have been highlighted in a virtual showcase by Engineers and Geoscientists BC. The John Hart generating station has been operating since 1947 and is being upgraded to modern standards in a billion dollar rebuild. We provided a third-party independent review and approval of the hydraulic and electrical control scheme for a water intake gate. The overall project features some innovative design features.

Corvus Energy is a world leader in electrical energy storage systems for marine use. Their racking systems are designed to be stiff but light, while providing cooling flows for thermal management. We have been working with Corvus to ensure the integrity of the racks during the potential dynamic loads of extreme sea states.

Innovation Magazine, the premier publication of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (formerly known as the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC or APEGBC), has an aim to showcase the innovative work of Association members. An annual summer issue is published with pictorial highlights of projects across the province and internationally. The two projects above are featured on pages 26 and 34 of the 2018 showcase issue.
